Corruption is across the board in environment sector of Pakistan

It is very wrong to presume that the corruption is rampant in only governmental environment sector of Pakistan. It is an omnipresent malaise that has hit the entire green fabric of the country.
It has become fashion in mega cities of the country to point finger at the government for environmental degradation.
But the fact of the matter is that both private and government environment sectors are equally responsible for the gloomy green scenario of our country.

Corruption in government environment sector of Pakistan

Yes it is a fact that in government environment sector the evil of corruption is almost unlimited. At monitoring, litigation and prosecution levels it is rife from top to bottom.
Cases of environmental violations are not identified at the first instance on payment of graft. If some of them are pointed out even then they are not forwarded to courts for prosecution.
In some cases a few cases are forwarded to courts just to give an impression that transparency is prevalent in the government environment sector of why environment sector is corrupt in PakistanPakistan but they are not properly attended and remain undecided in the courts.
The main reason of this lethargy at each level is corruption. The polluter greases the palm of the environmental monitor and prosecutor and remain in safe zone while continue polluting the environment.

Corruption in private environment sector of Pakistan

Only those companies of private sector follow environmental laws that have to fulfill the requirements of donors or their headquarters situated in foreign countries.
Otherwise most of the companies just make certain cosmetic arrangements to create an impression of being environment friendly. Not a single company in Pakistan has so far willingly installed treatment plant in its operations.
Either companies are forced to do so or for the image building of their brand they do so. Whenever environmental violator companies are examined by the government environment officials, everything is made cleared under the rule of give-and-take.

Corruption in NGO sector of Pakistan

Isn’t it surprising. Most of the NGOs in Pakistan are working just to mint the money. More than half of the funding from donors they spend for non-development expenditures and the salaries of their staff is the major chunk of it.
On-ground delivery is made very little and that too in a non-professional way. However, a few NGOs are quite good and working so well for the green cause but their quantity is next to nothing.
Green NGOs not only debit the huge amount of funding in salary expenses but they also misuse the funds to serve their own interests.
So what do you say now. Is corruption present only in government environment sector of Pakistan or now your opinion has become unbiased and impartial. Please share your thoughts in the comment section below.
