Green Cars: Being Eco-Friendly Doesn’t Mean A Life Without Comforts

Owning a hybrid car comes with a wealth of benefits, and contrary to popular belief, just because you’ve decided to buy a green car, it doesn’t mean you have to give up the high-end amenities present in gas-powered variants.

Eco-friendly vehicles can run just as fast as Diesel cars. But before making a choice, it’s very important to assess more than one model and brand.

The benefits of a green car are indisputable. First, we have the environmental benefits. These include less fuel consumption and reduced emissions. Second, we have the financial benefits that come with buying an eco-friendly vehicle. Some car manufacturers even offer to charge your car for free (for a limited period of time).

Before settling on a gas or diesel powered car, you might want to spend some time digging into the benefits of a hybrid. Some models feature outstanding amenities, meaning that they can look just as luxurious as any other high-end Ferrari.

But it’s really important to make a sensible decision; and you can do that by assessing price and features included into your brand new eco-friendly car – whether we’re talking about a Tesla Model S, or about a Toyota Prius.

Many buyers of hybrid cars are attracted by their level of fuel efficiency. If you’re a frequent commuter and you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a vehicle, a Prius might just be what you need.

Variants such as the thrifty Ford Fusion Hybrid helps keep the air cleaner, particularly in urban areas where heavy traffic produces smog coming from buildup of harmful atmospheric pollutants.

Green cars – advanced technologies & luxurious amenities

The winners at the Green Car Awards are living proof that eco-friendly cars packincredibly luxurious amenities. Featured in Washington DC, the event highlighted that the automotive industry has advanced tremendously in the recent years.

Potential buyers have an intrinsic need to invest in cars that are efficient, but they want to do it without harming the environment. Furthermore, they want their new purchases to include luxurious amenities, including advanced built-in technologies.

There’s no doubt that the auto industry has changed a lot. To live up with the competition and meet the demands of potential buyers, manufacturers work hard to deliver increasingly greener models without compromising on luxury. The three models that managed to stand out at the Green Car Awards are:

Mercedes-Benz C350e

Mercedes-Benz’s C350e hybrid model delivers an unparalleled driving experience without compromising on luxury. The latest model packs incredible plug-in hybrid power, combining “green” proclivity with advanced driver-assist and connected technologies.

There’s a fusion of sensors and on-board cameras that provide semi-autonomous and autonomous in-car features, including steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic braking to help steer clear of vehicle collisions.

BMW X5 xDrive40e

BMW’s latest X5 model is all set to surpass all SUVs available in the marketplace. It features efficient hybrid power and it was particularly crafted to fit even the most pretentious demands of the driver.

The beautiful SUV packs a smart all-wheel driving system that works even when the car drives on battery power. In terms of variants available, potential buyers can choose from: Eco Pro (which emphasizes on driving efficiency), Sport and Comfort models.

Acura NSX

Acura’s latest NSX model offers drivers a fine driving experience. For a sports car, this means a lot. Aggressively styled, and powered by a killer 500 hp, the power train integrates a V6 engine with a capacity of 3.5 liters.

The NSX uses a wealth of lightweight materials: SMC fiberglass, carbon fiber, high strength steel, and aluminum. All of them are meant to ease the driving experience and make it as smooth as possible.

The car can get from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 2.9 seconds; during this time, it still managed to deliver better fuel efficiency in the city than models from previous generations (up to 30%).

There’s no doubt that today’s auto industry is changing. Increasingly more buyers want to invest in a car that’s both fuel-efficient and luxurious; some don’t want to spend a fortune on such a vehicle. If that’s your plan, you won’t find your dream car in a Porsche parts catalogue. But if you assess the market really well, you might be surprised.
